ATOTC Character Battle Your ATOTC character will “battle” against another student’s ATOTC character in 3 different categories (rounds)

The two of you will decided on the 3 categories (points of comparison) The two of you will decided on the 3 categories (points of comparison). You will want to choose categories that both characters have some involvement in. For example, you would not choose “Being a Good Wife” as a battle category for Mr. Lorry and Miss Pross. (duh)

IDEAS /SUGGESTIONS for categories Devotion to cause Dedication to family Love of Lucie Endurance in the face of adversity Treatment of Dr. Manette Attitude towards Evremondes Involvement in revolution Loyalty Admired by others Social interactions Personal strength Passion for what they believe in Bravery

Battle categories that could be chosen by students for Mr Battle categories that could be chosen by students for Mr. Lorry and Miss Pross: Treatment of the Manettes Social Interactions Devotion

Together you will agree upon 3 battle categories for your 2 characters. Then, you will retire to your separate corners and prepare your character’s explanation with quotes and commentary for each of the three battle categories.

Each of you (separately, independently, by yourself, not with your battle buddy) will prepare an “introduction” for your character and an explanation of your character’s “strength” in each of the 3 battle categories. You will need to present quotes and commentary from ATOTC blended with your words. This separate, independent preparation will be the majority of your grade.

“Introduce” your character with a picture, a physical description, and a memorable quote (from the text)

For example, under the category of “Treatment of the Manettes”, the student who has Miss Pross would write:

And the student who has Mr. Lorry would write:

After the independent preparation has been done for each of the 3 categories (battle rounds) the two students “battle” their responses, and together they determine a “winner”.

Together, the two students will assemble a poster which contains: Independent introduction and picture for each character Independent preparation and winner explanation for each round Explanation of overall winner.
