Migration Statistics and Access to Information for Migrants in the South-easter Europe (SEEMIG and DRIM projects) Sanja Cukut Krilić, ZRC SAZU, Ljubljana, Slovenija Sarajevo, 8th October 2018

SEEMIG project: migration statistics in the area of Southeastern Europe - strengthening the field of decision-making based on migration management based on documentation and statistical records. DRIM project: improving access to information - creating an information platform for migrants and mobile individuals, testing it, and developing a strategy for sharing information as a necessary step towards better integration of migrants in the region.

Differences in concepts in national migration statistics: the history of individual countries and their historical migration movements; national and transnational migration policies; national and international institutions for data collection.

- SEEMIG - “Managing Migration and Its Effects in South-East Europe – Transnational Actions Towards Evidence Based Strategies” (South-East Europe Transnational Programme), - Objective: to better understanding and addressing the long-term migration, economic and demographic processes in South Eastern Europe as well as analyzing their impact on the labor market, national and regional economies.

IMPROVED ACCESS TO MIGRANT INFORMATION DRIM (Danube Region Information Platform for Economic Integration of Migrants) OBJECTIVE: Improve the capacity of public institutions to integrate migrants through improving information infrastructure for migrants. COVERS: 8 countries in the region of Podunavlje (Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Croatia + Bih - strategic partner) REZULT: Raising conscience about the importance of access to information, strategies to improve access to information through various activities.
