October 15-19 Kelly.Randolph@henry.k12.ga.us Davida.lyons@henry.k12.ga.us Parents, Our field trip is quickly approaching! We are excited for this exciting learning opportunity! Here are a few reminders ahead of time: Parents are unable to ride the bus with the students. You may follow the bus or meet us at the farm. We will leave the school at 9:00 am to make our 9:30 tour reservation. Parents will need to pay at the ticket booth upon arrival. We will meet there, but will not be able to stay there to wait for parents. Please help us stay on schedule by being on time. Please remember to send your student with a light jacket, water bottle, and tennis shoes! We will be doing A LOT of walking. Thanks for your help in making this a fun day! October 19: Field Trip to Southern Belle Farm October 22-26: Red Ribbon Week November 1: Amazing Moms @ 7:15 am November 2: Trunk or Treat and Fall Festival @ 6:00 pm What are we learning this week? I can classify objects into given categories. I can explain that maps and globes show views from above. I can explain that a map is a drawing of a place and a globe is a model of Earth. I can differentiate between water and land features on simple maps and globes. I can observe different features of maps and globes in order to compare and contrast them. I can identify different types of motion. I can plan and carry out an investigation to explain how an object’s attributes affect its motion. I can explain how an object should move based on its physical attributes. I can compare two numbers and tell which one is greater. I can compare two sets of objects and tell which one is greater. I can ask questions before, during and after a text that I read or that is read aloud to me. I can answer questions to show what I know. I can identify the front cover. I can identify the back cover. I can identify the title page of a book. I can use drawing, dictating and writing to write a narrative. With help from adults, I can use feedback from peers to make my writing stronger. With help from adults, I can use digital tools to publish my writing projects.
