Rejecting God When He Is Trying to Help You Leave Us Alone Rejecting God When He Is Trying to Help You

Do You Like to Be Left Alone? After a hard day’s work? Busy? Not feeling well? Suffering (Job 7:16; 10:20; 13:13)? Today, people respond with, “I’m good”, when you try to help them with the truth

Do You Like to Be Left Alone? People outside the Lord’s church want to be left alone when you speak to them about the gospel Brethren want to be left alone when you challenge them to mature or improve

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are worldly (Ex. 14:10-12) Desire the easy way out Happy with their sinful lifestyle, even though it may be hard Don’t want to be in the presence of righteousness (Lk. 4:34)

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are rejecting God’s word (Jer. 29:19; 1 Jn. 2:18-19; 3 Jn. 9-10) Some refuse God and his word, by refusing leaders and teachers of God’s word

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are ignorant (Mk. 5:17) Refuse to look at something new, or challenge their thinking, or ask questions Will not examine the evidence (Ac. 17:11)

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… The cost is too high (Mt. 19:22) Many do not want to give up anything to follow Jesus Many realize that they will be personally affected (Acts 19:23-28)

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are satisfied (Acts 13:45-46) Some believe they have no need for truth, and are satisfied with anything less than truth Satisfied with their religious traditions and doctrines, and will not question their beliefs

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are afraid of change (Acts 24:25; 26:28) Happy with the status quo, too busy to change, too much work, too proud to admit a better way Afraid that God will require too much, or be too drastic

Leave Us Alone People Say “Leave Us Alone” Because… They are self-sufficient (Rev. 3:17) They have a false sense of security The material side of life is their only concern

Leave Us Alone “Leave Us Alone”… Worldly Rejecting God’s Word Ignorant Cost is too high Satisfied Afraid of Change Self-sufficient

Left Alone in the End? If you want to be left alone, God will leave you alone (Hos. 4:17; Mt. 15:14) Hell will be the ultimate “leave me alone” place (2 Thess. 1:9)
