Ecclesiastes 5:10-20 & Mark 10:23-31 A Meaningful Life Ecclesiastes 5:10-20 & Mark 10:23-31

A cord of three strands is not easily broken. Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up! Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not easily broken.

Ecclesiastes

Ecclesiastes “Meaningless! Meaningless! Utterly meaningless! Everything is meaningless!”

Ecclesiastes “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume them.”

Ecclesiastes “Whoever loves money never has money enough; whoever loves wealth is never satisfied with his income. This too is meaningless. As goods increase, so do those who consume them.”

From Ecclesiastes 5…to Mark 10 Chasing after wealth is meaningless. This is what led the rich young man to reject Jesus and walk away sad.

From Ecclesiastes 5…to Mark 10 Chasing after wealth is meaningless. This is what led Jesus to say, “How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!”

A Meaningful Life “With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.”

“We have left everything to follow you…” A Meaningful Life “We have left everything to follow you…”

“We have left everything to follow you…” A Meaningful Life “We have left everything to follow you…” (What more do you want from us?!? Haven’t we done enough? I’m not rich. None of us are. We’re all poor! If it’s hard for a rich person to get into heaven, what chance do we have?!?)

“We have left everything to follow you…” A Meaningful Life “We have left everything to follow you…”

A Meaningful Life “I tell you the truth, no one who has left that which they love (home, family, stuff) for me and the gospel will fail to receive a hundred times as much in this present age (home, family, stuff)…and with them persecutions…and in the age to come eternal life.”

A Meaningful Life “The life of discipleship is a combination of promise and persecution, blessing and suffering.”
