Monday Bellwork Q. Why do we study history? In the top left hand corner of your paper, write your name, the date, and the question. Ex: Miss Wright 24 July 2017 Question Q. Why do we study history? Please answer in 5-7 well thought out sentences.

Tuesday Bellwork The virtue of the month is firmitas, which means tenacity or strength of mind. Please describe what this means to you and provide an example of where you have seen firmitas in European history. Ex. Martin Luther standing against Church immorality.

AP Block Bellwork Give a brief explanation of Aquinas’ account of knowledge. Where does knowledge begin (the senses, innate ideas, or something in between?) Does Aquinas believe we can really know things or that reason is too limited? Can faith extend our reason or is the stuff of faith separate from what is accessible to reason?

WCII Block Bellwork What does the reading “The Famine of 1315” tell us about the life and social conditions of Medieval times?

AP Friday Bellwork Why does Aquinas think democracy is an unjust form of government? Do you agree with him when using his definition?

WCII Friday Bellwork Read the Manifesto of the Revolting Cardinals, summarize the main issue that caused the Great Schism, and provide one reason you think the Italians would want an Italian pope.
