God Supplies The Bread We Need “And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;… Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness.” 2 Corinthians 9:8, 10

God’s provisions do not exempt man from having to work. “By the sweat of your face you will eat bread, till you return to the ground, because from it you were taken” (Genesis 3:19) “… he must labor, performing with his own hands what is good, so that he will have something to share with one who has need” (Ephesians 4:28)

God is able to supply bread even in a time of famine. Joseph’s mistreatment ended up to be a providential turn of events (Genesis 45:4-5). “… gather all the food of these good years… and store up the grain for food… Let the food become as a reserve for the land… so that land will not perish during the famine” (Genesis 41:35, 36)

With no grain to harvest, God can still fill empty stomachs with bread. God rained bread from heaven (Exodus 16:4, 6-7).

God is attentive to man’s individual needs. During a drought God provided for Elijah: Through ravens (1 Kings 17:3-4, 6) Through a poor widow (1 Kings 17:13-14)

Jesus fed 5,000 hungry followers on a mountainside in Galilee (John 6:11-13). “Where are we to buy bread, so that these may eat?” (6:5) Disciples’ answers (6:7, 9)

God is still providing bread for you and me. Our heavenly Father lovingly gives us the “loaf” we ask for (Matthew 7:9, 11). Daily rely on God for bread (Matthew 6:11).

Jesus Christ is the Bread whom we need above all else everyday (John 6:35) “… that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord” (Deuteronomy 8:3). God’s heavenly Bread “gives life to the world,” not just Israelites in a wilderness (John 6:33, 51, 54).

Jesus Christ is the Bread whom we need above all else everyday (John 6:35) “Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you, for on Him the Father, God, has set His seal.” (John 6:27)
