Comparative We use the comparative when we compare two things or people. A) we add er to the short adjective to form a comparative: Ex. 1 – Reem is taller than Layla . 2 – Mona is prettier than her sister. B) we write the word more before to long adjective to form a comparative: Ex. 1 – Atheer is more beautiful than Reem . 2 – The red car is more expensive than the black one. Remember that comparatives are often followed by than.

as …as or so …as As…as… John is as tall as Bob. We use as …as to show that something is the same or equal . As…as… John is as tall as Bob. Your house is as large as mine. Not so/as.. as..
