Redcar & Cleveland Vision for Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children

Key demographics in Redcar & Cleveland There are 27,318 children and young people in the borough. This equates to 20.2% of the population 3% of children and young people are from a minority ethnic background compared to 21% in the country overall. 781 pupils have an EHCP or statement. This equates to 3.5% of all pupils compared to 2.8% nationally. 25.4% of children live in low income families compared to 18.6% nationally Redcar & Cleveland is ranked the 49th most deprived areas out of 326 local authority areas 22% of neighbourhoods are in the 10% most deprived in the country
