Amber’s One Page Trainer Description What People Like and Admire about me as a trainer How to Best Support me as a trainer What is Important to me as a trainer That people have fun when participating in the learning process. People speak up and ask questions and share what they are getting out of the class. People leave the class knowing that Person Centered Practices is about balance between important to and important for. That people feel comfortable to ask questions. That soap boxes are avoided or stopped. I don’t think class time is the place to go off on soap boxes. People use what they learn! The learners get excited about what they are learning. People leave the class with a new set of tools to use in place of the “old way” of doing their work. After the class has ended people have a person/resource to go to for ongoing coaching and learning. My open approach has helped others feel comfortable to speak up in my trainings. I am passionate about Person Centered Practices and Positive Behavior Supports. People feel they know more after my class than before my class. My sense of humor. Creates a welcoming atmosphere in the class environment. PURPOSE: Ask people to find this form in their work book-theirs will not be colored by the shapes will be the same. SCRIPT: Ask them to take this page out. TIPS: There are two copies in each workbook so that people can feel comfortable “scribbling” and still have one to make a clean copy. TIME: 1 minute NOTES: Participants and co-trainers help me with slowing down. I tend to talk too fast. This is important as I want people to understand how to use the tools. Coffee is always a plus! Participants be prepared to learn, have fun, and avoid soap boxes. Co-trainer be prepared to teach, have fun, and support me if the class starts to go off on soap boxes. Co-trainer jump in and help with explaining content that I didn’t explain well or that the audience seemed to not grasp-it’s important to me that people understand how to use the tools. Give me pointers for the next round of trainings on what I could do better and what I should keep doing. Plan to spend time after the class to debrief on what worked and what didn’t work. Remind me to cover material that I skipped or forgot about. TLC-PCP www.learningcommunity.us
