Presentation transcript:

Site 1 is the people’s choice for 48 homes because it does not affect many residents. However, it is poorly located in relation to the village’s services and facilities. Site 2 has similar problems to site 3 but it is further from the station and the shops. They appear to control the property alongside Cockaynes Lane that could provide suitable access. 1 If sites 2 or 3 cannot work because of highways problems, we might consider reducing the amount of housing proposed for Alresford and going for something smaller on site 4, leaving plenty of room for the glow work beetles. We’re very reluctant about site 1 which just does not look right. 2 3 5 Site 3 is the Council’s preferred site for 48 dwellings but is unpopular locally. Access via Cockaynes Lane is not supported locally and might be problematic technically. The developer controls one property in Station Road, but to achieve a suitable vehicular access, further acquisitions may be necessary. Site 5 unlikely to be supported. 4 Site 4 is home to a rare species of glow work beetle but is a good site otherwise.

Site 2 is the Council’s preferred site but is unpopular locally Site 2 is the Council’s preferred site but is unpopular locally. Highway safety is a major concern. 40 homes + community hall. Site 1 is the people’s choice – 20 homes + community hall. 1 We are thinking of splitting the development between sites 1 and 2, 20 dwellings each. 2 Parish Council wants to avoid access via Meadow Close as it is a retirement complex. 3 Site 3 is okay, but it is the opposite site of the main road from the primary school. Site 4 unlikely to be supported. 4 5 Site 5 unlikely to be supported.
