Figure 1 Time to progression was significantly longer among patients with intermediate hepatocellular carcinoma receiving yttrium-90 radioembolization compared with conventional transarterial chemoembolization. Figure 2 aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) activation worsens fibrosis in chronic pancreatitis. (A) Vehicle (VE) or AhR ligand, TCDD, was administrated to wild-type (WT) or AhRd mice right after starting CP induction with cerulein, and mice were euthanized and tissues harvested after 4 weeks of cerulein injection. Relative pancreas weights from indicated groups are shown. (B) Representative of pancreas hematoxylin and eosin and Sirus Red staining. Scale bar, 200 μm. Quantitated fibrotic areas are shown in bar graph. (C) Quantitative reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction analysis of αSMA (α-smooth muscle actin), Col1α1 (Collagen1A1), Fn1 (Fibronectin), Tgfb (transforming growth factor-β) and Il22 (interleukin-22) gene expression in the pancreas from VE- or TCDD-treated WT mice.
