Respecting Christ’s Authority Lesson 9

Theme His humble background (Mk 6:3) did not command respect, but Jesus was ordained of God as a Prophet, King & Priest.

I. Authority of the Prophet Matthew 3:13-17 A. Christ’s Sinlessness 1. John the Baptist did not know why He came. 2. John’s baptism was of repentance for sin - no need.

I. Authority of the Prophet A. Christ’s Sinlessness 3. But Christ saw himself as responsible in all matters of righteousness.
