8-10 April 2014 CFS-ADI Joint Meeting Interaction Region Solutions Hybrid Detector Hall Access impact on Overall Construction schedule Yoshinobu NISHIMOTO 8-10 April 2014 CFS-ADI Joint Meeting

Back ground in latest Hybrid study Results of first step study HT, VS, Hybrid Construction cost Shaft construction and Lowering System are expensive But mechanical facility cost of shaft case is inexpensive than tunnel case Construction period Shorter in shaft case because, smaller section tunnel and smaller D/H. Comments, pros and cons from Detector team Both of shaft and tunnel access will be better. Shaft access is easy to install in ILD case similar to CMS Risks in Hybrid case, geology, wider surface ground , larger buildings , is it practical ? Next study “Current study” Hybrid option Hybrid-A : base case of Hybrid Both detectors installed through VS Hybrid-B ILD-VS and SiD-HT There are a shaft and a tunnel in Hybrid case, use them each other in ILD and SiD. Hybrid-C Both detectors installed through HT Just adding UT shaft to HT case Shaft access available, and mechanical facility cost will be reduced. There are no conclusive different in both case 8-10 April 2014 CFS-ADI Joint Meeting
