RMT women: How your union works

Branches 250 branches in the union: basic unit of RMT democracy organise members in specific workplaces most meet monthly elected branch secretary, chairperson, other officers (women’s officer?) elect, support, organise and hear reports from, reps information and circulars from head office delegates to RMT and other conferences union elections motions speakers, campaigns, events

National Women’s Advisory Committee made up of women members elected on a regional basis for a three-year term advises the National Executive on matters relating to women meets three times a year your branch or regional council can send motions

National Women’s Conference annual, two days, early March meet other RMT women workshops guest speakers your branch or regional council can send motions successful resolutions are sent to the National Executive two resolutions sent to the AGM
