Information Technology “IT is the use of modern technology to aid the capture, storage, retrieval, analysis and communication of Information, whether in the form of data, text, image or voice.”

IT Devices Basically four devices of IT are following; Capture Storage Processing Communication

Capture Keyboard for keying in data or text to a computer Computer mouse or graphic pads for drawing with a computer Microphone for speech and music input to computer, audio or telecommunication Scanners for converting text or images from paper into computer format Video camera or video input to computer, video and telecommunication

Storage Memory chips for short-term storage of data in computer system Magnetic disks and disk drives for long-term storage of data in computer system Magnetic tape and tape drives for long-term storage of data in computer system, speech or music in audio systems and image in video systems. Compact discs and players for long term storage of data in computer system, speech or music in audio systems and image in video systems. Video disk and players for long term storage of data in computer system, speech or music in audio systems and image in video systems.

Processing Logic chips for analyzing data in computer and other electronic systems Mixing and editing consoles for processing sound and image information in audio and video systems Message switching and routing devices for telecommunication

Communication Monitors for displaying the output of computer and video systems Printers for producing a permanent copy of output from computer systems Loudspeakers for reproducing the output from audio systems Wires, fiber optics and broadcast devices for use in telecommunication systems
