The End Is Not the End: Remnants of tRNA Precursors Live On to Sponge Up Small Regulatory RNAs Wilma Ziebuhr, Jörg Vogel Molecular Cell Volume 58, Issue 3, Pages 389-390 (May 2015) DOI: 10.1016/j.molcel.2015.04.032 Copyright © 2015 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions
Figure 1 Well-Characterized RNA Sponges in Bacteria RNA sponges were recently discovered to control sugar utilization (Figueroa-Bossi et al., 2009; Overgaard et al., 2009) and amino acid metabolism (Miyakoshi et al., 2015). The right hand panel illustrates the tRNA-precursor-derived RNA sponge described by Lalaouna et al. in this issue. The figure summarizes the respective location of the RNA sponges, their regulated sRNAs, as well as the target regulons controlled by the sponge mechanism. See the above papers for more detailed information. Molecular Cell 2015 58, 389-390DOI: (10.1016/j.molcel.2015.04.032) Copyright © 2015 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions
