Kinematics Problems Day #3
Example #1 Two students are throwing water balloons at each other. One student is on the top of a 10m tall building and throws balloons with an initial velocity of 5.2 m/s [D]. The other is on the ground and throws the balloons upwards with an initial velocity of 7.1 m/s [U]. Where (and when) will the balloons meet?
Example #2 A student is running a race that is 5000m long. The student wishes to complete the race in 13 minutes. The student completes the first 4200m in 11 minutes. If they accelerate at a rate of 0.2m/s2, determine how long they must accelerate for to complete the race in the desired time. Assume that the motion is constant in every other part of the race.
