Journal Entry #38 Title: Post Break How was your Thanksgiving break? Tell me about it, and you must use all four comma rules at least once. The comma rules you learned are: comma in a series, appositive, introductory clause, and coordinating conjunction. Refer to your comma foldable if you need to. You have 7 minutes to write your journal entry. As always, use correct punctuation and capitalization.

Tuesday: I have a math test tomorrow: Have got is redundant, so the verb got is removed. Math is not capitalized unless it is the specific name of a math course (Math 101). Tomorrow was misspelled. well: Well is an adverb and modifies an action (doing). Good is an adjective. equations,: Equations was misspelled. problems: Problems does not require an apostrophe as it is the plural form. too: Too is removed because it is redundant (also is already used). Ms. Jones’: Names should be capitalized, and a period should follow Ms. An apostrophe is added after Jones because it shows possession. tough: Tough was misspelled. nerves: Nerves does not need an apostrophe at the end as it does not show possession. Affect: Affect is a verb meaning to produce change. Effect is a noun that means a result of a change. © Presto Plans
