Building A Talent Pipeline

TwinWest Partner School Districts Regional k-12 talent pipeline - 5 school districts - 53,000 K-12 students Not including Robbinsdale Public School District - 12,385 (60% SOC/I; 52.6% FRL) 5 school districts: 15,801 high school students  

Ensuring a 21st Century Workforce: A Partnership Model TwinWest Business Students Families Educators Ensuring a talent pipeline for our region will require that we scale and imbed Career Connected Learning and Experiences to support early career exploration and skill building that results in heightened engagement and improved postsecondary and career readiness for all students, contributing to the closing of educational disparities. Targeted Impact 2018 - 2021 Outcomes Career exploration Understanding of labor market needs and educational paths Postsecondary and career readiness Reduced disparities 3 Year Targets 2500  5000 students access opportunities Access to 14  50 teacher externships 90 percent employer satisfaction Close to one third of high school students by year three TEACHER EXTERNSHIPS: TwinWest partner businesses that participated by hosting teachers throughout the week included Bonfe Plumbing Heating and Air, Cargill, EvolveAdditive Solutions, Fairview, Kimley Horn, Liberty Diversified International, MetCouncil, Optum/UnitedHealth Group, and Target,   Teachers and business professionals alike were thrilled with the program outcome. Teacher, Gary, from Osseo School District, stated “Every teacher needs to do this” supported by Jeri, from Wayzata School District, “Extremely valuable experience! Thank you!” The businesses were equally invested in continuing to build relationships with local teachers and enjoyed the experience. “Don't stop. Keep pushing this program. There is so much work to be done. Help kids find something they like and they can find a company they love.”
