Presentation transcript:

Bell Work Take out your chapter of Animals in Translation and your answers. Your questions from yesterday must be finished as I come around to initial them. Put your flashcards and worksheet on the corner of your desk to be graded. Today your questions will be counted and given a grade dependent on the completion of answers (with quotations) that have been done on time. If you were absent, you were expected to catch up by today as homework. Everything has been on the website.

Today’s Instructions Individually, work on the questions for pp.20-26 while your other work is being scored. Remember to highlight your quotations. You will have 30 minutes to work and then you will be writing your Assessment Paragraph based on this week’s work. You will be able to use your answers to questions and your Quick Writes to help you to write your Assessment Paragraph.

Instructions for Quick Write: On separate paper, to be turned in and graded, write a fully developed paragraph with plenty of specific support (quotations) answering the following prompt: How does Grandin develop and refine a central idea in the chapter? In a fully developed paragraph response, identify a central idea from Chapter 1 of Animals in Translation and trace its development and refinement in the text. Use details from each section of the text that we read this week in your response. (There were 5 sections, so at least 5 quotations are expected). Be sure to write legibly.
