Plastic in our oceans I tried to find a photo to put here to show just how bad this is. I couldn’t pick just one. Here is an image search for “oceans plastic”

What can be done?

What can we do? This is the interactive part of our presentation. We’d like you to think about single-use plastics and consider their alternatives. Please feel free to jot down ideas in the children’s jotters or just have a chat in small groups. To get you started: cotton wool buds, drinking straws, nappies, water bottles…

Alternatives The good news is, there are alternatives out there and they are being developed as we speak. We even made our own eco-friendly “plastic” today using milk and vinegar. When you get home, look up “make plastic milk” and you’ll find out how. This same substance could be one of the many answers to the plastic problem.
