Timely Tips for Interviewing De Guire SAT Prep

BEFORE THE DAY If you have to go someplace that is new to you for the interview, take a trip to the place the day before to know how long it takes to get there. If there are any problems such as parking, you will be less nervous the day of the interview when you don't have to worry about finding the place.

BEFORE THE DAY Give yourself lots and lots of extra time to get to the interview. But even if you have been there, give yourself extra time. Trains get stuck, buses run late, and traffic jams.

Dress Dress business-like. Most employers expect you to dress in business type clothes for interviews. Don't dress casual. Don't wear party clothes.

Take with you… Have your references ready. Before you go to the interview, ask references if it's okay to use their names. Have their names and telephone numbers written down. If you can, fill out an application before you go to the interview. If you can’t write down information you will need to fill it out such as: names, addresses, and phone numbers of former employers and references. Write down the names of any training or education programs you have attended.

Meeting your Interviewer Some people think it's a good idea to shake hands with people at the interview. If you are comfortable with that, shake hands with the people who are interviewing you. Say "nice to meet you" or "nice to see you again." If you aren't used to shaking hands, practice it. Don't be limp and mushy, but don't crush anyone either.

Commonly Asked Questions Tell me about yourself. What is your greatest strength? Can you describe a situation in your past where you learned from a mistake? What is the most difficult situation you have ever faced? Is there anything you would like to improve about yourself? What is the most important thing you are looking for in a job? What are your career goals? What motivates you? Why would you like to work for us? Why should I hire you?
