EVN Amplitude Calibration Jun Yang, JIVE TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE

Timely delivery of results Timely delivery can significantly speed up the correlation, post review, and pipeline processes and make more disk packs be available in the upcoming session. Automatically uploading log files and gps data are very welcome. Feedbacks, rxg, antab and uvflg files should be delivered within 2 weeks after the end of a session. TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE

K-Band EVN Observations Three Russian QUASAR stations will be available. Tr and Ur will get K-band receivers in the next year. Hh is expected to participate in the EVN observation again in the upcoming Spring. Current status Amplitude calibration at 22 GHz does not look as good as at low frequencies. Opacity-free gain curve is not available at Nt, Ys, Ro, Jb, & Cm. TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE

* Tr: 0.6x lower in BBC 4 & 6 in N09L2 Auto-correlation plots. Terrible wide-band RFI. Not seen in N09L3. TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE

TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE More EVN stations * Ur: Low correlation amplitude in LL 7&8 (BBC 7) in the 6 cm Gbps experiments of Session 2/2009. * Sh: Low correlation amplitude and clearly S-shape phase bandpass in IF 5-8 (BBC 5-8) in the 6cm Gbps experiments of Session 2/2009. * Tr: Large error in IF 7&8 (1691 & 1706 MHz) in session 2/2009, which was probably caused by RFI in the 18cm experiments. We should pay attention to the BBCs with low (<0.8x) correlation amplitude in the ftp-fringe tests. TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE

TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE Calibration Accuracy Numbers here are the median absolute error in the antenna gain amplitude. This number will be approx half the error in the SEFD and is the same that you see in AIPS gain plots. The number in brackets after each entry is the number of experiments that were used to determine the median error for that entry. On & Nt: Calibration was improved at 6 cm. Jb & Cm: keep the status for at least 6 sessions. TOG Meeting – Bonn, December 4, 2009 Jun Yang, JIVE
