WATER

P OLLUTION IN SEAS AND OCEANS The water pollution produced by the issuance of toxic gases, occasional spills of oil, or metal pollution, waste sewage or pesticides for example, the waste produced by factories. The law provides for the reduction of hazardous waste through the gradual reduction in the use of toxic products on the part of the industry or through the purification of waste.

W ATER SHORTAGE The drought causes devastating effects in the countries that suffer it. Currently, many countries have less water than they need. At the beginning of the next century, a third of nations will have water scarcity permanently. The underground lakes, dating from prehistoric times, are running out quickly.

M ARINE SPECIES IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION Because of the pollution of its ecosystem, poaching or uncontrolled, many marine species, those who spend most of their life in water, are seriously affected or in danger of extinction as the marine turtle or whale.

GROUND

W ASTE Waste are materials generated by the man. Some are reused, but others are piling up in landfills, rivers, seas or any other place. Waste are materials generated by the man. Some are reused, but others are piling up in landfills, rivers, seas or any other place.

D EFORESTATION D EFORESTATION The large-scale destruction of forests by the human action. The deforestation pace of some 17 million hectares a year. Forests play a key role in the carbon storage, because they are the lungs of the Earth. When they are destroyed, the excess of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere contributes to global warming of the Earth, and this involves multitude of side effects.

L L AND SPECIES IN DANGER OF EXTINCTION One of the consequences of the extermination of animal species, such as the panda or the Iberian lynx, is to break the foodstuff cycle. If a species, which feeds on it also disappears, or grows dramatically

AIR

A IR POLLUTION the emissions from factories, cars and heating, affects the lives of living beings

A CCOUSTIC POLLUTION It is less known, but it also affects us. It is caused by human activities, traffic, industries, entertainment, aircraft. It produces adverse effects on health hearing, physical and mental.

We are responsible for this.

Let us Help the Earth.
