Warm-Up: The Scientific Revolution Answer the following question on your handout What inventions do you believe are “revolutionary”??? And WHY?

The Scientific Revolution Chapter 22 In the mid-1500s, scientists began to question accepted beliefs and make new theories based on experimentation.

Setting the Stage… The Renaissance inspired curiosity and questioning. The Reformation challenged ways of thinking about God and salvation. Scientific Revolution challenged how people viewed their place in the universe.

What was the Scientific Revolution? A new way of thinking about the natural world. Based upon careful observation and a willingness to question accepted beliefs.
