Geo Spatial Patterns and Referencing of Medical Marijuana in the United States Introduction: The point of this project was to determine spatial patterns between legalized and illegalized medical marijuana states . By collecting a numerous amount of data from different characteristics, I have discovered patterns to why certain states have legalized marijuana and why certain states do not believe in the use and issues of it. Analyzing: The map above, is showing crimes commented in 2006. This characteristic stood out the most. The states that marijuana are illegal in are the states with the total highest crimes with 637,829 2006. The legalized states had a total number of 386,636 crimes in 2006. That a different of 252,000 crimes. Analyzing: The map to the left, is showing the legalized medical marijuana states and the year congress passed the law. Conclusion: I would have to say that this research is far from over; I believe that the patterns that have been discovered are just the beginning of what can be discovered in the future. With time and research, I believe that this topic can be very interest with other demographic patterns. Methodology: I used data from state master.com to fill the fields within the characteristics chart. Arc Map was also used to design the map above. By: Tyler Aldridge
