All of the people in this presentation work for Johnson Matthey All of the people in this presentation work for Johnson Matthey. Johnson Matthey makes lots of scientific products including ‘catalytic converters’ which help to take some of the pollution out of car exhausts.

ALEXANDRA WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? I play flute and piano. I am a Scientist at Johnson Matthey. WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? I am good at science and studied it at school and university. I need to be confident with computers. ALEXANDRA I find out about the properties of different materials. WHAT DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT? WHAT DO I DO IN MY JOB? Alexandra chose to study science at school. When she turned 16 she studied for A’levels in science and maths. She then went on to a Chemistry degree at university. I liked maths. I enjoyed trampolining and judo. WHAT DID I ENJOY AT SCHOOL?

Aoife chose to study Biology, Geography, Music and Chemistry at 16, and went on to get a degree in Environmental science at university. I enjoyed nature and nature walks. WHAT DID I ENJOY AT SCHOOL?

DANIEL WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? I still enjoy playing football. I am a Manufacturing Apprentice at Johnson Matthey. WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? I need to be willing to try out lots of new things and to keep learning. DANIEL I am still learning so I get to work in lots of different places in the factory. WHAT DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT? WHAT DO I DO IN MY JOB? Daniel chose to study PE, Biology, Business Studies & Psychology at school and then studied Performing manufacturing operations and Performing engineering operations at college. I loved playing football and played for my school team. WHAT DID I ENJOY AT SCHOOL?

JEREMY WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? I love spending time with my two daughters. I am a Site Manager at Johnson Matthey. WHAT ARE MY HOBBIES? WHAT JOB DO I DO? Maths is very useful in this job. JEREMY I make sure that everyone stays safe. WHAT DO I NEED TO BE GOOD AT? WHAT DO I DO IN MY JOB? Jeremy began his working life as an apprentice electrician when he left school at 16. I was always interested in finding out how things worked. WHAT DID I ENJOY AT SCHOOL?
