Before we start… What is a y-intercept? Where is it on a graph? If you look at a coordinate point, how can you tell if it is a y-intercept?

What is Slope-Intercept Form? Recall the graph of this equation is a line with a slope of m and a y-intercept of b.

How do you write an equation given the slope and a point on the line? Identify the slope m. Start in point-slope form. Convert the equation to slope-intercept by solving for y. Verify the equation is in slope-intercept form y = mx + b

How do you write an equation of a line given two points? Calculate the slope. Plug into point-slope form. Use the slope and a point given. Write the equation. y = mx + b
