Figure S4. The effects of AC0010 and gefitinib administration on rat skins. Female Sprague Dawley (SD) rats were orally administrated with vehicle control (0.5% MC), AC0010 at 300 mg/kg and gefitinib at 50 mg/kg once daily for 4 weeks. During the experimental period, both AC0010 and gefitinib treatments did not apparently affect (A) rat body weights and (B) food consumption. Skin damages were observed in the Gefitinib treated group through (C) normal clinical observations and (D) histopathological analysis (H&E staining, ×200). The major histopathological findings were hyperplasia and infiltration of inflammatory cells in superficial epithelial of skins. Necrosis but not ulcer was noted in the back and neck skins. Necrosis of meibomian gland and aggregation and infiltration of inflammatory cells were observed in the eyelid.
