US military bases and access agreements The presence of US military bases and access arrangements around the globe has made the US the number one military superpower in the world and the number one threat to world peace. The MLSA contributes to this imperialist hegemony which has now been repackaged as a war against terrorism. Such military activities are necessary to quell all kinds of dissent and resistance to US-led imperialist globalization and plunder.
