Presentation transcript:

Class rules-Refresher You will remain seated at all times. If you need to get up, raise your hand and ask Be aware of when it is appropriate to call out answers, and when you should raise your hand Take turns talking Be a polite audience for presentations, clap when it seems appropriate

Manners You will wait until the other class exits until you enter. As you are waiting, you will line up outside the classroom against the lockers towards the washrooms Once you enter, you sit down, and wait for instructions (there will always be instructions!) Please and thank you go a long way (Especially when you thank your teacher!)

The 3 big ones Be Prepared Be On time Be Respectful

Be Prepared This includes having assignments completed to the best of your abilities, handed in on time. Study for tests (see “how to study for science” lesson) Do required homework or pre-work Bring appropriate materials to class, books, pencils, pencil crayons, paper, magazines, etc. Bring in field trip forms ASAP

Be On Time Yes, you have a lot of books to carry, items to remember. Yes, there are other students in the way. Don’t wait for your friends. If you hurry, they’ll hurry. Don’t dawdle.

Be Respectful To your teachers, both regular and substitute To each other Follow school rules (review these) To property No writing on desks, putting garbage in No “borrowing” without permission Do not throw things or leave messes on counters/floors

Students must… Realize that they might not get along with everyone, but they must respect those in authority especially. Try to follow all instructions given by the teacher, if you do not understand, ask. Do not argue with a guest teacher or administrator. Write your questions down for the next day to be clarified by your teacher.

Students must… Follow regular classroom routines whether or not “teacher is watching” Encourage fellow classmates to behave Complete the assignment given to the best of their abilities (not “good enough”) Be cooperative

Try your best Be nice to teachers and other students. Manage your time wisely Do not whine Ask for extensions only when you merit one. Catch up on missed work (Be Proactive) Do not talk when you are supposed to be listening/working

Computers discuss

Consequences Vary depending on the problem and may include but are not limited to: Discussion with student Discussion with parent Discussion with administration Use of lunch hour as time to resolve issues
