TEEP Agree the Learning Outcomes Learning Objectives To understand the job roles of an engineering company: Airbus

Learning Outcomes Progress – Identify the job roles that an engineering company has. Good Progress – Describe the job roles that an engineering company has. Exceptional Progress – Compare and contrast the job roles that an engineering company has.

Airbus - Jobs Airbus currently offer jobs in the following areas: Engineering has more jobs with the company than any other areas.

Airbus - Jobs The Engineering jobs are divided up like this:

Airbus - Jobs Explore some of the Engineering jobs at Airbus in more detail: http://company.airbus.com/news-media/media~item=7c42d0e2-0095-4ca7-9571-d57b77aec6a5~.html http://company.airbus.com/news-media/media~item=1300de4a-fe20-4530-a2c9-3613944738bc~.html http://company.airbus.com/news-media/media~item=3a57cba7-f412-4130-a9fe-516572198598~.html

Challenge Taking the role of a design engineer for Airbus they would like you to investigate new ideas for place design. To do this you are going to attempt to model an efficient aircraft that can achieve the furthest distance using minimal materials and fuel. You are going to be provided with 1 sheet of A4 paper to produce your model, you will have 15 minutes to develop your idea. You will need to test your design against the rest of the class. Your plane needs to be thrown 3 times by 3 different people, with the plane that travels the longest distance being the most efficient.

Continue to write a fact file about Airbus, this should already include the following topics: Products they produce How many people they employ, and where. You now need to add: The different jobs that Engineers and others who work for airbus do. Use the following resources to help you find this information: Printed copies of the slides http://company.airbus.com/careers.html https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Airbus#Organisation BTEC Level 1/Level 2 Tech Award Engineering Student Book
