3.17 Letting Conversations Spark New Ideas

CONNECTION How many of you changed your minds about the issues after hearing the second zoo group or the second extreme sports group? It’s great that we learn and move on, carrying on what we learn from each other!

TEACHING POINT Readers move forward in their research by thinking about their past reading and thinking but also by thinking about their past conversations.

TEACHING What conversations could we have right now about killer whale shows?

TEACHING What ideas haven’t we explored before? This conversation made me realize… I’m starting to wonder… Before our conversation I thought…but now I’m starting to think… So it seems like one thing we are saying is…

ENGAGEMENT Talk first, then read second.

MIDWORKSHOP Ask yourself as you are reading, how does this fit with what we talked about?

SHARE Research is a cycle Plan for your next meeting: Last time we discussed…as I read…now I’m thinking… Your new debate is only four days away!
