Kindness : ‘We carry Kevan’ Reflection week beginning 30th January 2017

Kevan Chandler has muscular dystrophy This is a condition in which his muscles waste away and he is confined to a wheelchair, with very little movement in his limbs He has an incredible group of 7 friends who decided to help Kevan make his dream of travelling Europe into a reality

‘We carry Kevan’ campaign They raised money via social media, and built a specially designed back-pack to enable them to carry Kevan around on their backs. Each guy took it in turns to carry him, and he had the trip of a lifetime. https://www.youtube.com/watch ?v=ftNuFw03zR0 See the Video!

‘We carry Kevan’ campaign Since he has returned, Kevan has campaigned to raise funds to enable families with disabled children to afford similar back- packs so that they too can travel He has written a book, and currently also writes a blog. The documentary film of his travels is coming up soon

To reflect on….or pray There are times when we are so concerned about ourselves that we don’t think of others. noticing when someone is unhappy, seeing when someone feels cut off or isolated, knowing when to say the right word, being thoughtful when someone is ill, giving words of encouragement, helping someone to feel welcome, realising when someone needs the opportunity to talk. May we grow in sensitivity towards others.
