English: Tuesday, November 6, 2018 Handouts: * The “Be Verbs” Lullaby Homework: * Memorize the “Be Verbs” using our mnemonic  * Study “Be Verbs.” We will have a QUIZ on Thursday. We will also have a practice quiz tomorrow. If you do well on tomorrow’s quiz, you will ace Thursday’s quiz.  3. Assignments due: * Grammar 18 (Helping Verbs)

Starter #1 Take out your comp book. Turn to the first blank page. In the upper right hand corner, write the following: Tues., Nov. 6, 2018 QW #25: “Me” as a Friend What makes you a good friend? Describe what you “bring to the table” as a friend; that is, what qualities do you display and what principles do you live by that would make you a good friend? Remember to write in complete sentences, avoiding fragments and run-ons. If you are not sure how to spell a certain word, just sound it out and circle it.

Lesson Goal: Learn to create super sentences by using a mnemonic to memorize “be verbs.” Outcomes: Be able to . . . Identify passive “be verbs.” Explain the reason for memorizing “be verbs.” Recognize the tune “Braham’s Lullaby.” Sing “be verbs” to the tune of “Braham’s Lullaby.” Recite all 23 of the “be verbs.”

Let’s switch to another PP presentation. . . . Starter #2 This week we have focused on verbs, and today we are going to learn why verbs hold the key to powerful, creative writing. Let’s switch to another PP presentation. . . .  Creating Super Sentences
