Ephesians 2 We were dead in trespasses Made alive by His grace Though our faith (obedient) Gentiles were without hope and without God But Christ broke down the wall of separation Through Him we access to the Father by the Spirit

Fellow Citizens Strangers and foreigners For us – any one who is without Christ!

Fellow Citizens Fellow citizens – Συμπολίτης, (sympolitēs) Members of a particular state (government) The kingdom is in existence (Col. 1:13, cf. Matt. 16:19) We are equal - fellows

Fellow Citizens Saints – ἅγιος, (hagios) Set apart. Under Old Covenant (the Jews) Now ALL the saved (1 Cor. 1:2, 2 Cor. 1:1, Phil. 1:1, Eph. 1:1) Eph. 4:12, 6:18 Galatians 3:27-29 – we are all now ONE

Grows into a holy temple Unity promotes growth Eph. 4:16 Temple – a place of worship to God. Under Old Law, the temple was where Israel met with God. Psalm 5:7, 11:4, 27:4, 68:29, 138:2, etc. As the church, we come together to worship – Acts 20:7 We are priests – 1 Pet. 2:4-5,9-10, Heb. 13:15-16

Grows into a holy temple “in the Lord” Col. 3:17, By His authority

Grows into a holy temple A dwelling place of God in the Spirit When we are united, God is welcome! He is glorified. Psa. 133:1 1 Cor. 3:16-17 When we are not what we ought to be, we are in danger of losing our relationship with him
