Which claims to believe 2.11, pg. 130 “America the Not-So-Beautiful”

Do you believe America is a wasteful society? Explain. Who is Andy Rooney? 1919-2011 “Resolution,” Andy Rooney “Impending Doom, “ Andy Rooney Activate Prior Knowledge 15 minutes Do you believe that America is a wasteful society?  Explain your reasoning using details and examples. Individually, students responded to this prompt in writing, then shared their opinions within small groups (4 students).  Each group was then asked to share their strongest argument with the whole class.

Pg. 130 How do I identify the claim and purpose of text? Read and analyze a humorous argumentative text about pollution and waste. Identify the claim and purpose of this text.
