ALL Glynn Academy Sophomores will take the PSAT on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 during 1st AND 2nd block. What is the PSAT/NMSQT? Let’s start with the basics. What is the PSAT/NMSQT?

Take the PSAT/NMSQT How to Sign Up: All sophomores are automatically signed up Test Day/Date: Wednesday October 24, 2018 Time: 8:20 a.m. – 11:40 a.m. (1st & 2nd Block) Location: Rooms assignments will be posted Bring: Shool ID Two #2 Pencils Calculator (optional) Water (optional – for break) Note to Presenter: All TRUE sophomores are automatically signed up to take the PSAT. If you are in the class of 2017, but are not technically a sophomore because of failed classes, you will need to register and pay $17 to take the PSAT in the counseling office. The Department of Education will only pay for students that have enough credits earned to be a sophomore to take the PSAT.

Recruiters are here during all 3 lunches – unless marked otherwise. This is a great opportunity to get questions answered about the college admission process!!

Prudential spirit of community award If you've made a difference through volunteering over the past year, you could win $1,000 and a fabulous trip to Washington, D.C. next May by applying for a Prudential Spirit of Community award. Glynn Academy can nominate one student to compete at the local, state, and national level. Applications must be submitted online by Tuesday, November 6, 2018: http://spirit.prudential.com. Our principal will review the applications online and select the one top candidate to compete.

VFW Voice of democracy essay contest **Due by 3:00 PM on Wednesday, 10/31/18** If you’re proud to be an American, a history buff, or just love to write, you should take advantage of this Essay Contest. This national contest is for students in grade 9 – 12 and offers an opportunity to win up to $30,000!!! The essay is to be typed and then you must record yourself reading it and save it to a CD between 3 – 5 minutes long. The theme this year is: “Why My Vote Matters” (See Mrs. Barrow’s website for more details)
