Current Status: Upcoming Projects Over 11 discretionary grant and special projects funded windows awards on learning projects across various learning pathways are in the pipeline for implementation Implementation is to be staggered over the remainder of the current financial year

JANUARY 2019 Current Status: Upcoming Projects Commencement letters and communication issued to entities whose learner documents are verified and deemed compliant JANUARY 2019 Communication and commencement letters issued on 27thOctober 2018. 7TH – 21ST training to commence FEBRUARY 2019 Communication issued on 27th October 2018. Commencement letter to be issued in January 2019. 1ST – 22ND training to commence APRIL 2019 Communication issued on 27th October 2018 Commencement letter to be issued in March 2019. 1ST – 26TH training to commence

Criteria Applied Chronological order of Discretionary Grants Awarded (W1 being the first batch awarded in 2017) The process of appointing training providers was through a normal bidding process that delayed commencement of projects. This has since been revised to appoint training providers using a panel and aging analysis is being implemented Synchronising projects with the organisation’s annual performance and transformational plans and targets

Criteria Applied Success rate of previously awarded entities, high performers will deliver successfully on their projects resulting in completions being reported on time Entities that have government institutions (i.e. Municipalities etc.) as their Host Sites.

Current Status: Process Fully automated LMIS system which we are consistently reviewing to improve efficiency Upload of learner enrolment and learner achievements by the Skills Development Provider Confirmation learner enrolment letter with supply of start and end date

Challenges & Interventions Backlog on learner certificates processing is gradually reducing Increasing of human resource capacity to conduct external moderation Create pools of expertise to focus on external moderations All LA numbers to be scheduled by 31 November 2018 All pending External Moderation to be completed by 31 February 2019

Current Status An automated and integrated system for certification is in use Delays in printing and distribution of certificates are still prevalent albeit lower scale To date 13 739 certificates have been printed compared to last financial year’s 10 872 System Refinements: Formatting of certificates Automated acknowledgements Upgraded internal features on the system to enable better services delivery Simplified automated tool developed for bulk printing feature System integration for direct submission of approved external moderation reports, enabling quicker outputs of certificates and SoRs
