Intro To Programming Project Presentation

Group Presentation All group members have to present part of the project. Characteristics of a good presentation Clear speaking voice Good posture Enthusiasm Good introduction Clear description of the project Good conclusion

Tools that can help Power Point Project Helps with the flow of the presentation Easy way to incorporate graphics into the presentation Gives and outline/summary for information in the presentation Project Demonstrate the project running

At the end of the presentation You will need to answer questions from the class. You can use the question time to record two suggested improvements to your project.

Questions? How long should the presentation be? No longer than three minutes. Focus on covering the material thoroughly rather than meeting a time requirement.

Presentation Evaluation (4 pts ea) Ideas and Content Content clear, focused, well suited to the audience. Organization Effective Introduction Clear organization that is easy to follow Details that fit the structure. Well designed conclusion Language The language is original, functional and appropriate to audience and purpose. Competent, practical use of technical language Delivery Eye contact Clear enunciation Effective rate, volume, tone, and voice inflection Effort Product demonstrates your best effort

Project Grading (20 Points) At least 2 sprites (2 pts) More than 1 background (2 pts) Iteration (repeat loops) (2 pts) Conditional statements (if….) How the Project will be Evaluated Project report filled in by your group includes: Project title/ Brainstorming ideas (5 pts) Project design (5 points) Journal of work for each group member (5 pts/week) Test suite - check all elements are working (5 pts) Evaluation of your project’s good and bad points (5 pts) Presentation plan (5 pts) Suggested improvements (2 pts) Presentation (20 pts) Project (20 pts) Presentation Evaluations (5 pts for evaluating all of the teams.) The Group Report, which you have been given is a very important part of your project and will form part of your assessment. The report must be updated at the end of each lesson and should include the following: Brainstorming ideas for your project, project design, diary of work, challenges and positive aspects of your project, diary of work for each group member( this records the work done each class by each member), test suite to check all parts of your project are working, evaluation of the positive and negative aspects of your project, a plan of how you will present your project to the class, including a PowerPoint presentation and finally 2 suggested improvements for your project. The Group Report must be submitted at the end of every lesson.

Audience Etiquette Turn all electronic gadgetry off. Talk only if you're invited to by the presenter. Keep private whispered conversations to a minimum. Remain alert and actively listen. Stay to the end of the speech Show appreciation for the effort the speaker has made to plan, write and deliver the speech.
