Lesson 2 Advice & Tips

Be Aware We are less, when we do not include everyone Be aware of your societies needs and goals. Be Inclusive You are the back bone of societies You play a huge part in engagement Be aware of the opportunities around you

Unity You are to aim to unite the society Know each member Build relationships History teaches us that unity is strength, and cautions us to submerge and overcome our differences in the quest for common goals, to strive, with all our combined strength, for the path to unity.

Leadership Leaders from within The best leaders are usually great followers If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader. To handle yourself, use your head; to handle others, use your heart. The greatest leader is not necessarily the one who does the greatest things. He is the one that gets the people to do the greatest things.

Key Tips for Social Secretaries “I joined a society so I can make friends and to get a sense of belonging” Inclusivity: Ensure you are catering for every member of the group. Every one must feel like they belong. That can be achieved by good observance. Diversity: Diversity is the hardest to do live with in society and also the most dangerous thing to live without. Observe: Good observance will allow you to see the missing link. By observing you allow yourself to see things better from a different perspective. Finances: Don’t make it too expensive, but if it is worth it, the money will come.
