Hyperlinking is awesome
Hyperlinking – What is it? It’s a way to get around quickly in your presentation. Non-linear, so you can do some cool stuff
How to do it Step 1 – Create the origin slide (where the students will begin) Step 2 – Create the ‘destination’ slides (where they will end up when they click a certain answer) Step 3 – Link the origin and destination slides.
How to do it Scenario: You’re making a multiple choice review game about multiplication, and you want to make it interactive for the students, so they can click on answers to see if they’re right.
1. Create the Origin Slide For our example, a multiplication question:
2. Create the Destination Slide(s) For our example, we need a ‘correct’ slide and an ‘incorrect’ slide:
3. Link the slides Click the ‘insert’ tab Highlight the answer you want to link Click ‘hyperlink’
The hyperlink Window This window will appear:
The hyperlink Window Select “place in this document”:
The hyperlink Window Select which slide you want to link the answer to, and click “ok.”
The hyperlink Window Do the same thing with the incorrect answers, and link them to the incorrect slide.
BUT… If students click the wrong answer, how do they get back to the question?! Create another hyperlink back to the question!
Go to the ‘incorrect’ slide. Highlight “Incorrect…try again.” Click ‘insert’ > ‘hyperlink’ Link back to the “Question #1” slide
THEN, you can go to the “correct” slide Insert a text box that says “Next Question” And link to the next slide to do it all again!
