Age of Pericles

Athenian Empire After the Persian Wars, the Athenians joined with other city-states to form the Delian League. Sparta was not part of this alliance.

Athenian Empire The Delian League promised to defend its members against the Persians Eventually the delian League freed most of the Greek cities under Persian control.

Athenian Empire Delian League was headquartered at the island of Delos The Chief officials were from Athens as were most of the troops

Athenian Empire As Athenians gained more control the alliance was moved to Athens Eventually the Delian League dissolved, Athenians helped other city states overthrow the nobles and the Athenian Empire came about pg 139
