You should know … Periodic table: metals, non-metals, metalloid location and properties. Proper chemical symbol structure. Standard notation. Organization of the periodic table: groups and periods. Location of properties of: alkali’s, alkaline earth’s, halogens, noble gases. Atomic theory scientists and their contributions.

You should also know… Components of an atom: protons, electrons, neutrons. How to determine proton, electron and neutron numbers. Atomic mass, mass number and atomic number – what they mean etc. Bohr diagrams. Trends of the periodic table.
