About Me Education Years as an Educator B.S. in Secondary Education-EMU Masters of Education Leadership-SVSU Education Specialist-SVSU Years as an Educator I have taught for 16 years I have experience working with high school, junior high and middle school students. I have worked as a academic coach, club sponsor, teacher leader, summer school coordinator, online learning, administrator, served on numerous committees and in my favorite assignment, a teacher.

Topics Earth Science Life Science Physical Science 1st Quarter-No Textbook Lab Procedures Science Skills 2nd Quarter Introduction to Matter 3rd Quarter Investigating Matter 4th Quarter Inside the Restless Earth The Earth’s Surfaces

Assignments Homework-Students will have homework most nights of the week Projects- These can be classified as long term or short term projects. May include research projects and activities. Labs- These could be done individually or in a lab group but all students will submit their own work. Tests/Quizzes-Quizzes will be frequent to provide feedback to teacher and student.

Grade book Grades can be checked using myRCS. The site does not update instantly Updates are twice a week. So if your child has a missing assignment or absent work that is not showing as completed on myRCS my first recommendation is to check again in 24 hours. If the assignment is still missing have your student speak to me or email and I will verify it was turned in.

Codes Late Work ABS = Absent NHI= Not Handed in M= Missing EXC= Excused Late Work Students have 1 Wiggle for homework Late homework goes down 1 point for each day it is late Assignments/Lab are reduced 10% each day it is late

Expectations I expect students to follow the Viking Virtues. Students should come to class on time, prepared to learn. This means coming with all necessary supplies. I expect students to not disrupt the learning of the other students in the classroom. I expect students to actively participate in class and to ask questions. I expect students to be “bucket fillers”.

Extra Help I am available for help before school, after school and during lunch. I have and will continue to offer opportunities to come in during lunch for binder organization, study sessions, and for additional time to work on some assingments. Lunches are a great time to make up quizzes and other missed assignments as well. I ask parents and students to email me in advance to make arrangements in case I already have something else on my calendar.

Thank You I have been enjoying my classes because of the young scientists who attend each day. I look forward to watching them grow and explore the world of science.
