Faculty Prioritization Process - Fall 2018 Faculty Senate Presentation August 15, 2018 Presented by Tram Vo-Kumamoto, VPI and Co-chair of Faculty Prioritization Committee

Provide the President with two prioritized lists for Replacement & New FT faculty requests to inform decision-making regarding the announcements of new faculty positions. COMMITTEE CHARGE

Represent the interest of the college community Represent the interest of the college community. Committee members will make decisions on campus- wide needs and opportunities. Promote fairness and equity in resource allocations Align your decision making with Mission and goals for the college GUIDING PRINCIPLES

CRITERIA & POINTS: 7.25 total points Narrative (70%) – highest score is 5 FTES/# of FT faculty in area (30%) – highest score is 2.25 CRITERIA & POINTS: 7.25 total points Each rep will score each request 1 (low to need/goal) to 5 (high to need/goal) Final score will be total of all scores for the request/24 Counseling, librarians& Nursing will have a 1.45 multiplier bc scored on narrative only ordered from high to low & broken up into 5ths 2.25pts., 1.80 pts., 1.35 pts., 0.90 pts., 0.45pts. (1 FTES= 1 student enrolled in 15 hours for 2 terms)
