Joseph D’Aquanni Art Studio News West Road Intermediate School December 2018 Message From The Teacher Studio Habits of Mind The studio habits are taught to promote and develop artistic minds. 8 Studio Habits: Develop Craft Envision Engage and Persist Express Observe Reflect Stretch and Explore Understand Art World With the new school year well under way, we have had a busy and productive first trimester! It is a privilege and joy working with your children and watching them grow as artists every class. Each child brings their own unique perspectives, experiences and passions to the art studio which further enriches our program. Thank you for your continued support of the arts! Sincerely, Mrs. Boland Upcoming Events Martin Luther King Jr. Tribute January 16, 2019 Arlington High School, 7:00pm District Arts Fair April 6, 2019 LaGrange Middle School 11:00 – 4:00pm Learning in a Choice-Based Art Studio Third, fourth and fifth graders are learning about the Artistic Process: Plan, Create and Reflect. They are learning how to plan their art using original ideas, create their art with a variety of media, and reflect upon their artwork by writing artist statements. Art Media Stations Currently in the art studio, there are drawing media stations (pencils, colored pencils, markers, oil pastels, and crayons) and a collage station.
