Unlike previous years when we shared stats, this year want to share some info on AIEF but want to understand how familiar you are with the Foundation. Recognize some chapter leaders are new and may not know too much about Foundation. Show of hands on how many leaders are familiar with AIEF. http://www.armaedfoundation.org

AIEF receives 501(c)(3) status AIEF is incorporated ARMA International creates an education and scholarship Fund 1973 1997 2015 ARMA decides to change the FUND to a FOUNDATION AIEF becomes an independent, self-operated organization 1973 – ARMA International created education and scholarship fund. Sole purpose was to grant scholarships for individuals enrolled in full-time education in the field of RIM. Mid-1990s – ARMA BOD realized the Fund did not meet the needs of the practitioners or the field of RIM. 1996 – ARMA decided to create the Foundation. 1997 – Foundation was incorporated. 1998 – the Foundation received 501(c)(3) tax exempt status. 2015 – the Foundation became an independent, self-operated organization, i.e., no longer under ARMA umbrella, and no longer have the privilege of administrative and operational support. Thank ARMA for their support in the past years.

Foundation Today Mission Board of Trustees To fund and promote research, scholarship, and educational opportunities for the information management profession. Six Operational Committees Our mission has not changed over the years. Our mission is to fund and promote research, scholarship, and educational opportunities for the information management profession. ARMA continues to endorse the Foundation, and as you can see, uses ‘ARMA International’ as a part of its name. BOT of 9 Trustees. 6 Operational Committees – (list the committees) Working board, i.e., each Trustee chairs a committee. Welcome and encourage joining BOT or Committees. Foundation vision is to expand network of supporters and to provide our services to professionals in other IM-related organizations as well, e.g., AIIM IAPP, PRISM, etc. Run by volunteers Expanding network of supporters

Since 1998… Spent over $200,000 in scholarships & funded over 25 research projects!

AIEF-Graduate Scholarships 2018 Winners Summer Shetenhelm – Univ. of Denver Jennette Chalcraft – Univ. of British Columbia Erica Vanden Bosch – Univ. of Ottawa Dominique Glassman – Univ. of Toronto Danielle Batista – 2018 - Five scholarships ($8,000) Goal: For aspiring information management professionals currently enrolled in graduate-level education programs Application typically available in early January with end-of-March deadline

Access Leadership Scholarships Two Scholarships - $6,000 & $2,000.00 Goal: - For current RIM practitioners currently enrolled in an education program (associate, bachelor, or graduate) to help advance them in their positions of responsibility Application deadline August 31, 2018 http://armaedfoundation.org/scholarship-program/currently-available-scholarships/ 2017 Winners Brett Wise - Harvard Extension School James Carpenter - San Jose State Univ. Applications are now being accepted. The goal is, - to enable RIM practitioners to advance to positions of greater responsibility that require college degrees, and - to advance their leadership skills for roles in the field of information management. Brett Wise currently serves as the Director of Records and Information Management (RIM) at the American Board of Pediatrics. He is enrolled in the Harvard University Extension School, working on a Masters in Liberal Arts with a focus on Information Management Systems. James Carpenter is a Records Assistant at the law firm of Stroock & Stroock & Lavan LLP. He is enrolled in the Masters in Archives and Records Management Program at San Jose State University.

La ARMA Nostra Certification Reimbursement Award Six - $500 tuition reimbursement awards Goal: For IM practitioners working toward or having recently completed certifications related to information management, such as the CRM, IGP, or other related certifications Application deadline August 31, 2018 http://armaedfoundation.org/currently-available-scholarships/ 2017 Winners Sandra Bates - Regina, SK Aimee Dyjer - Lyodminster, AB Elizabeth Francis - Somerville, MA Torey King - Trenton, NJ Elena Tanner - Sugar Land, TX Jia Zhu - Edmonton, AB This program provides $500 reimbursement grants for information management practitioners working toward or having recently completed certifications related to information management, such as the CRM (Certification of Records Management) and IGP (Information Governance Professional Certification). This year, the Foundation will issue six (6) grants.
