Dr. Seuss- I Love to Read Week The Jaguar Journal Upcoming Dates: Tuesday, Feb. 27- Born Learning, 5:30-7:00 Thursday, Mar. 1- Zaxby’s Night, 5:00-9:00 pm Monday, March 5-- Friday, March 9- Kindness Week Thursday, March 8- Blood Drive, 9:30-12:00 Friday, Feb.23, 2018 Dear Families- Happy Friday! Wow! We have had an exciting week at Junction City this week! We would like to thank all of the moms, and other special guests, for joining us for Muffins with Mom on Wednesday. Our students get super excited for this event every year! They love to show off their classrooms and share their work with family members. We appreciate everyone who took time out of their busy schedules to join us. Have a great weekend! Mrs. Shunk Kindness Week March 5 - 9 will be Kindness Week at JCES. Be on the lookout for more information next week. Each day of the week will follow a different theme. It’s going to be lots of fun! Born Learning Attention families with children under the age of 6! Find out how to strengthen your child’s foundation for success in school, work and life with United Way’s Born Learning Academy. Join us for a free workshop that will provide your family with tools and resources to turn everyday activities into learning opportunities. Dinner and childcare will be provided. Parents will receive lots of fun activities to help your children learn- anywhere and anytime. The next meeting is Tuesday, February 27th from 5:30-7:00 pm at JCES. Please contact the school at 859-936-7524 to RSVP or if you have any questions We hope to see you there. Dr. Seuss- I Love to Read Week Dr. Seuss’ birthday is March 2nd. We will celebrate “Dr. Seuss- I Love to Read Week” February 26th - March 22nd. This is always a fun week for the kids, so I hope everyone will participate in our theme days! Below are the themes for the week: Monday- I Can Read with My Eyes Shut (wear a shirt you can read) Tuesday- Green Eggs and Ham (wear something green) Wednesday- The Cat in the Hat (wear a hat) Thursday- I Am NOT Going to Get Up Today! (wear pajamas) Friday- The Places You’ll Go (college shirt day. Pennies for Patients Our school has pledged to raise funds for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society through their Pennies for Patients program. Information came home a few weeks ago. All you have to do is send in your spare change (pennies) and your child can place it in his/her classroom collection box. All of the pennies collected will be donated to the LLS to help children suffering from cancer. Please help US help THEM. Not getting One Calls? We may not have an accurate phone number for you.
